International Exchanges

FICMES joined World Foundry Organization (WFO) in 1978 as an official country member representing China. FICMES has successfully held the 61^st World Foundry Congress (WFC) in 1995, the 69^th WFC in 2010 and two Asian Foundry Conferences, and gathered foundry professionals to take part in international conference and other exchange activities. By organizing and holding series of international exchanges, FICMES manages to strengthen cooperation between Chinese and foreign foundrymen and promote foundry industry of China.

◆ In 1988, chairman Yaohe Zhou was elected to be the member of WFO Executive Committee. Since then, China's status in the World Foundry organization has been fully reflected.

◆ In 1992, chairman Yaohe Zhou was elected to be the chairman of WFO Executive Committee and presided over the meeting as chairman of the 60^th World Foundry Congress in 1993.

◆ FICMES successfully held the 61^st World Foundry Congress in Beijing in 1995.

◆ FICMES successfully held the 5^th Asian Foundry Congress in Nanjing in 1997.

◆ In 2000, chairman Guoxiong Sun was elected to be the member of WFO Executive Committee.

◆ The 69^th World Foundry Congress was successfully held in Hangzhou in 2010.

◆ The 11^th Asian Foundry Congress was held in Guangzhou in 2011.

◆ In 2012, with the approval of WFO, FICMES was responsible for the establishment of the World Foundry Organization's Committee on molding materials (Committee 5), Committee on nonferrous alloys (Committee 6), Committee on iron based materials (Committee 7) and die casting Committee (committee 8). Academic and technical communication in related fields were regularly organized and held worldwide

◆ In 2014, chairman Yanchun Lou was elected to be the member of WFO Executive Committee and was elected as WFO vice chairman in 2019.
