On the morning of April 18^th, 2023, Mr. Lou Yanchun, Vice Chairman of the World Foundry Organization (WFO) and President of the Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES), formally signed a framework agreement for strategic cooperation with Mr. Qingwei, Vice Mayor of Deyang, in Deyang, Sichuan Province. The two parties confirmed that the 75^th World Foundry Congress would be held from October 25^th to 30^th, 2024 at Deyang Wende International Convention and Exhibition Center, Sichuan Province. Liu Guangqiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Deyang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Deyang, Wang Yongchuan, Secretary-general of Deyang Municipal People's Government, Xie Huasheng, Vice President of FICMES, and Liu Hongchao, Secretary-general of FICMES, attended the signing ceremony.

The 75^th World Foundry Congress is sponsored by WFO and undertaken by FICMES, the official representative of China in WFO. This is the third time for FICMES to host the World Foundry Congress after successfully hosting the 61^st (1995, Beijing) and 69^th (2010, Hangzhou) World Foundry Congress. The congress has received great attention and strong support from the Deyang Municipal People’s Government. Taking this opportunity, two parties are going to deepen all-round cooperation based on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, personnel training and exchanges, and local foundry industry planning and development.

Deyang has a profound historical and cultural heritage and a solid foundation for the heavy equipment industry. Known as the “City of Heavy Equipment”, Deyang owns a number of leading enterprises such as Erzhong (Deyang) Heavy Equipment Co., Ltd., Dongfang Electric Corporation, and Dongfang Turbine Co., Ltd., etc., manufactures large-scale equipment such as nuclear power products, hydropower units, thermal power units, steam turbines, steel rolling machine and large castings & forgings for power station and marine, and serves both domestic and foreign markets.

It is believed that the 75^th World Foundry Congress will become an industry feast where the global foundry industry gathers again for exchanges and cooperation under the leadership of WFO, with the full support of Deyang Municipal People’s Government and local enterprises, and the joint efforts of foundry colleagues across the world.
