Subcommittee 1 on Cast Steels of National Technical Committee 54 on Foundry of Standardization Administration of China(SAC/TC54/SC1) held a national standard audit meeting in Changzhou city, Jiangsu Province, on December 14, 2021, including “Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 1: Steel castings for general purposes” and “Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 2: Steel castings for highly stressed components”.

“Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 1: Steel castings for general purposes” and “Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 2: Steel castings for highly stressed components” were programs of the fourth batch of standards development in 2020 issued by Standardization Administration of China on December 24, 2020 ([2020] No.53 of Standardization Administration of China). Two national standards were modified adoption of International Standard ISO 4992-1: 2020 Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 1: Steel castings for general purposes and ISO 4992-2:2020 Steel castings-Ultrasonic testing-Part 2: Steel castings for highly stressed components, respectively. Two national standards were the revisions of GB/T 7233.1-2009 Ultrasonic Testing of Steel Castings-Part 1: General Purpose Steel Castings and GB/T 7233.2-2010 Ultrasonic testing of Steel castings-Part 2: High Pressure Steel castings, respectively. Both two national standards were drafted by Shenyang Research Institute of foundry Co.,ltd. 

Two draft standards for examination (DIS) were under heightened scrutiny from committees attending the audit meeting.

At the end of meeting, two national standards passed without objection.
