The 15th China International Die casting Exhibition (CHINA DIECASTING 2020) and 2020 China Nonferrous Alloys & Special Casting Exhibition (CHINA NONFERROUS 2020) was successfully held at Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) on July 15-17, 2020. For more than 20 years, the exhibition as the vane for die casting and nonferrous field of China, has developed together with the industry, kept vitalizing and innovating the industry with faith, insistence, technology and intelligence.

The outbreak of COVID-19 early this year has accelerated industry reshuffle. It is a critical period for companies to think about a long-term development strategy, optimize supply chain, and promote innovation-driven development. In the theme of "Digitalization Application and Intelligent Development in High-Efficient Die Casting Manufacturing", the event this year gathered and displayed advanced technologies, equipment and mainstream products of global nonferrous and die casting field. Meanwhile, a series of forums and onsite events were held to discuss hot topics, market changes, and encourage independent innovation.

1. Coordinate for Further Development

The grand opening ceremony of CHINA DIECASTING & CHINA NONFERROUS was successfully held at SNIEC on July 15, 2020. The exhibition this year gathered 262 exhibitors from 9 countries and regions, among which international exhibitors accounts for 21%, and 11,986 trade visitors working in nonferrous, die casting and related application fields. 2 professional congresses and 12 themed events were held concurrently onsite, including the 15th China International Die Casting Congress and the 6th China Symposium on Nonferrous Alloys and Special Casting Technologies, display area in theme of "Digitalization Application and Intelligent Development in High-Efficient Die Casting Manufacturing", 4 casting parts displays, 2 industry-level selections, 5 onsite seminars, bringing 61 excellent speeches and reports.

3. Intelligent + Digitalization Application Driving Industry Transformation and Upgrade
Corona virus ruined a flying start for the industry at the beginning of this year, but enables those companies with a higher level of digitalization application and intelligent manufacturing to perform more outstandingly in production, market and other aspects. As a result, more and more companies are willing to increase their investment in digitalization and intelligent application. In order to meet such demands and trends, exhibition this year focused on "Digitalization Application and Intelligent Development in High-Efficient Die Casting Manufacturing" and got many companies involved into series theme-related activities like speeches, booth design, whitepaper, display, etc.

4. Hotspot-focused Onsite Events Got Industry, University, Research Involved
Following industry trend, the exhibition positively supports exhibitors in emerging market layout, and further promotes industry communication and cooperation. In addition to living broadcast where experts are invited to answer problems the industry is facing online, the exhibition planned and concurrently held two technical congresses and series of topic-focused forums on intelligent, lightweight, low pressure and gravity, etc. assisting enterprises to understand industry and its trend better so as to gain more benefits from the platform.

(1) The 15th China International Die Casting Congress and the 6th China Symposium on Nonferrous Alloys and Special Casting Technologies

The 15th China International Die Casting Congress and the 6th China Symposium on Nonferrous Alloys and Special Casting Technologies, organized by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), Die Casting Commission of the World Foundry Organization and Nonferrous Alloys Commission of the World Foundry Organization, managed by Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society(FICMES), China Foundry Productivity Promotion Center (FPC), State Key Laboratory of Light Alloy Casting Technology for High-end Equipment and Shenyang University of Technology, were successfully held in Shanghai on July 16-17, 2020.

In the theme of "Innovative Development and Practical Application of Nonferrous Alloys and Die Casting Technologies", the congress invited 26 speakers from Ford, Dongfeng, General Motor, Guangdong Hongtu, Dalian Yaming, IKD, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other automotive OEMs, famous die casting producers, research institutes to discuss digitalization application, intelligent manufacturing, development and application of new materials and other hot topics. The two-day speeches attracted many professional attendees. With high-quality speeches, positive interaction and lively atmosphere, the congress gained recognition from both speakers and listeners.

(2) Annual Innovative Technology Sparks a More Promising Industry

To encourage independent innovation, further promote development and technical progress of die casting industry, the industry-wide "Award of Innovative Technology and Product " has been organized by FICMES annually since 2017.

After primary selection and final assessment by expert group, 10 technologies and products in total were granted with "2020 Innovative Product" award onsite on July 16, 2020. Winners introduced their awarding technologies and products at the release conference.

(3) Exchange with Experts Closely at Various Seminars

Sino-Foreign Die Casting Technical Forum, Precise Mold Manufacturing Seminar, Magnesium Casting Technology Seminar, Low Pressure & Gravity Casting Technology Seminar and Automotive Lightweight Development Forum were held onsite. Experts from Ford, General Motor, Geely, Dongfeng, GF, IDRA, Beijing Jingdiao, Magma, Eaton, Ruiming, TZMC, Dz-united, Techno-wave, Visi-Trak, Hua Yun Sheng Hong, Schaeffler, Nemak, Yaming, Italpresse and Jiangsu University gave speeches and exchanged technologies with onsite visitors at different angles.

(4) Four Special Areas Display Excellent Die Casting Parts

In addition to automobile, die casting enterprises are now positively exploring application fields like medical, communication, 3C, furniture & decoration, leisure, sport, etc. On basis of existing brand-events "Best Die Casting Competition" and "Japan Die Casting Parts Display", exhibition this year expanded display areas by newly adding "High-quality Casting Appreciation" and "Classified Display of Nonferrous Castings" to show new process, material, products and application in die casting and nonferrous fields and demonstrate new development road for companies involved.

This year, 82 casting parts produced by 48 companies in total were selected for the next round of "Best Die Casting Competition". After professional, authoritative and rigorous onsite assessment by respectable experts, four casting parts and molds were finally granted with gold award, and ten won excellence award. The awarding ceremony were held onsite on July 16, 2020 to encourage winners.

5. Multiform Demonstration Enables an Easy Visit

In spite of the impact of global epidemic and entry controls, the exhibition this year gathered leading exhibitors and brands from NINE countries including China, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, and 11,986 trade visitors working in auto, toy, electrics, communication, medical, metal process industries and other die casting & nonferrous related visitors. 60 purchasing groups from automobile, motorbike, mechanical and electronic industries visited the exhibition.

Considering a lot of visitors couldn't come to site due to the epidemic, this year organizers offer more angles and channels for these visitors. Online showroom enables buyers to search and learn exhibitors and exhibits anytime; living broadcast in form of photo enables you to capture wonderful moments together with photographer; live studio by Die-Casting Weekly invited industry elites to connect with visitors remotely.
